Spending New Year's Eve doesn't always have to be costly or super expensive. Who knew a 2,5 hours boat travel to northern part of Jakarta will take you to an unforgettable experience in a village island of 1000 Islands.
Far for the hustle bustle crowd of Jakarta, far from exclusivity, yet the experience was superb!
Enjoy the picts!
Travel note:
- Arrive early in Muara Angke Harbour, as early as 06.00AM, or you might missed the ferry. If you want to go through Marina, you might have to go to Pramuka first or ask if the ferry will stop over there.
- Do not wear extravagant cloths, you are blending with local villagers and will have to scoot between legs and goods at the ferry
- Do not expect hotels, resorts nor hostels, as you will have to stay with the local homestays, even share rooms with them, sometimes
- No running water, you will have to pull it from the well (nimba)
- No dive sites nor operators there, snorkeling will have to rent a boat; yet nothing compares to other islands like Pramuka, Bira, Kotok or Sepa
- Perfect for fun biking and beaching :)
